A Graphic Novel Cook Book Authored by the Community
From Greek broth to grief and loss, fishwives to folklore, pancakes to politics, Gaza to Glasgow, Tomorrow’s Kitchen: A Graphic Novel Cookbook is a unique collection of stories and recipes from novelists, food writers, cooks, playwrights and activists from all over the world.
Drawn by Shanghai based BAFTA-nominated illustrator Shuangshuang Hao, Tomorrow’s Kitchen invites you to the table, to taste some flavours of today’s world, and to think about how we might cook things up differently in tomorrow’s.
Over the past 12 months we have been developing a graphic novel cookbook authored by the community - Tomorrow's Kitchen - a project and publication which has hosted a variety of events including public recipe assembling events, community dinners and creative writing workshops. Working with over 60 participants including writers, poets, cooks, illustrators and community members from Scotland, Palestine, Rwanda and more - Tomorrow's Kitchen amplifies a collection of unique voices, using food and illustration to describe experiences that make us understand a little more about humanity and the wider world around us. Tomorrow's Kitchen is a cultural, creative, practical, visual, activist and humanitarian novel published in partnership with Kitchen Press.
